Journalist, best-selling author and award-winning songwriter Robert Remington is currently a columnist and editorial writer with the Calgary Herald.
His journalism career has taken him to Pakistan, East Africa, Europe,
the Middle East and Central America. He has reported on the 2007-2008 tribal violence in Kenya, reconstruction efforts in post-civil war northern Uganda and the 2005 papal succession in Vatican City. He is formerly the Calgary-based western Canada correspondent for The National Post as well as a columnist, arts editor and reporter at The Edmonton He is the co-author of Runaway Devil, released in the U.S. and Canada in 2009 by McClelland & Stewart. Seven weeks on the Globe and Mail's national bestseller list, it is the true story of Canada's youngest multiple killer, a 12-year-old girl convicted of murdering her family with the help of her 23-year-old boyfriend. As a singer-songwriter, he has been a four-time finalist and a second-place winner in 2010 at the Calgary Folk Music Festival songwriting competition.
